John Doddrell

John Doddrell is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Happy Child International. He is a former senior civil servant and diplomat, having served as Her Majesty's Consul General in Brazil from 2010-2014. John is married to Dilsa, who comes from Recife in north-east Brazil and they have one daughter. John and Dilsa are members of Petts Wood Methodist Church.
Clive Teuten

Clive Teuten is a chartered management accountant, initially training and qualifying with BOC Group. Has worked as finance director for a number of international engineering and high tech businesses. He has been a leader in young peoples work with the Urban Saints Guildford and at his church, St Saviours' Guildford where he is an active member. He is married to Emma with three daughters.

John Herring joined the board of Happy Child as a trustee in 2011. John qualified as a chartered accountant and then spent a number of years in investment banking before setting up his own advisory business in 1996. He has sat on the boards of a number of companies, both public and private, including J D Wetherspoon, where he was deputy chairman. He is currently non-executive chairman of the Edinburgh Woollen Mill Group. He is married to Nicola and they have four children.

Mark Pinks is a retired solicitor, having been a partner in TWM solicitors, a firm throughout Surrey, since its creation. He attends Saint Mary‘s Church, West Horsley. He has worked with children in the UK as a leader with Urban Saints, and for the last 25 years has run a holiday club in Romania. He has also taken out groups to Brazil, both Belo Horizonte and Recife, working with the children in the homes. Mark helps the board with legal issues. He is married to Hilary and has two children and six grandchildren.

João Martinez da Cruz

Originally from Brazil, João has been working in management and leadership roles in the International Development and Biodiversity Conservation Sectors for nearly 30 years. João holds a Master’s degree in Development Management as well as qualifications in NGO management and professional coaching. He is also an experienced language tutor, translator and interpreter. He lives in West London with his wife Rachel, they have two grown-up children and attend an Assemblies of God Church.
Caroline Taylor is a graduate in Spanish and Portuguese from Kings College, London. She has been involved with Happy Child since the beginning and from 1999 until 2004 lived in Brazil working hands-on with the children. When the Leatherhead office opened in 2006 Caroline moved to Surrey to support the fundraising office in her role as Supporter Care Manager. In 2015 she took over as Head of Operations for the charity working closely with the existing Board of Directors. Today Caroline and the Board steer the work of the charity.
