Ammar Transforma
Amar Transforma brings transformation to people’s lives, foster better learning and training as well as taking care of very vulnerable children, young people and their families. Part of the work is to meet the physical, psychological and emotional needs of those whom they are serving by showing a commitment towards social justice and delivering the work with a Christian ethos.
They work with low-income vulnerable families in a densely populated area of Recife called Joana Bezerra Island, about 4 miles away from the city centre. As well as providing emergency food supplies, hot meals and personal hygiene and cleaning materials, they run after-school clubs and craft-making workshops (to help families with children earn additional income). Pastoral and emotional support as well as guidance on preventing and dealing with violence and abuse are also provided.
This year Happy Child’s support to Ammar Transforma has helped them:
Deliver 200 hot meals a month to those in need in the local community.

To deliver Educational Clubs to children and young people from low income families.
To deliver Literacy Classes to children, young people and their family members.
